10:00-12:00 Are you a British student from a black and minority ethnic background? - We need your help!
We are looking for British Black and Minority Ethnic students to take part in a session that will help BU understand your experiences of life at Bournemouth University.
There will be FREE food and drinks, plus every participant will receive a £2.50 SUBU voucher to spend in one of our restaurants or the shop. This is a really exciting opportunity and we look forward to hearing from you.
The session is 5th October between 10am-12pm

12:30-17:00 Diversity symposium: Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) home students within Media Production
The event aims to bring together academics and professional support staff, along with visiting speakers, to address the issues that arise for BAME students at all stages of the student journey, from application to career progression

09:30-16:30 Black Minority Ethnic Health Inequalities and research
A partnership event to celebrate Black History Month 2016 with a morning that focusses on BME Health Inequalities and research. The afternoon will be a celebration of Caribbean music starring Alfred The Great.

13:30-16:45: Decolonising the University
This workshop seeks to provide participants with an opportunity to:
- understand the historical background to racial diversity in the Higher Education context- critically reflect on their own thinking and practice in relation to diversity and inclusivity.- think about the scale and nature of the challenge at the institutional level. - consider and develop action strategies for meeting the challenge.
